I am slowly unfollowing a lot of rage-baiters who I suppose keep me informed, but who fill my feeds with horrible things… and no solutions. I want my attention to go where I can be useful. Like with you!

Rage-baiter! I’ve never heard that term, but it gets at something. Rage serves a purpose, but it’s so easily manipulated by those who want us perpetually running around with our hair on fire. Rage also repels people who would listen (and participate) if the conversation were more grounded.

Love the name Gumbinner. Does that mean your ancestors came from Gumbinnen which was a part of East Prussia, now part of Kaliningrad?

Thank you for the chicken recipe! And for a sane approach to the marathon that living with this chaos is going to be. I don't know if it's brought delight, but I'm taking comfort in all the ways I see people resisting within their sphere of influence.

1. Chicken recipe = game changer. 2. I, too, am comforted by seeing a range of responses to what’s happening. It feels crucial to find a way to keep talking about all this in a way that’s honest about the gravity and danger we face, but also nourishing, productive, calming, connective… you know?

I have chosen compassion for all. I agree with what you said and a big part is our reaction and response. Staying off social media and not watching much news helps keep me sane. Appreciate your thought and so today I choose compassion.
